The core tactic involves creating three types of content:
1. Informational pages that provide more useful details about competitors than they do themselves.
2. Comparison pages covering two tools (including competitors) in depth—features, pricing, pros, and cons.
3. Alternative pages where visitors searching for a competitor’s name plus “alternative” find a better option.
Each page caters to people who know the competitor’s product and want something different—or who are comparing two known solutions. Placing frequent calls-to-action (CTAs) throughout these pages encourages signups or purchases. Interactive tools or calculators in these articles further improve conversions by engaging users and offering immediate value.
There’s also a focus on using an AI content platform with a built-in knowledge base, so the AI understands my own SaaS and all the competitors. This makes it simple to auto-generate full articles complete with headings, images, embedded videos, and internal links. The system publishes content directly to a website, integrates lead magnets, and can syndicate posts to social media—everything needed for a streamlined workflow.
It may not be a thrilling process, but it drives results: by zeroing in on competitors’ branded keywords and crafting better informational, comparison, and alternative pages, it’s possible to tap into qualified, purchase-ready traffic and significantly lift SaaS MRR, all without paying for ads
